 Another succinct critique: The "truth" or not of the various "facts" appears to be neither here nor there (no doubt a major contrast to a UK trial of this nature). The bottom line, from what I can gather, is that: - The judge doesn't appear particularly impressed with a former PJ officer interpreting selected "facts" from an early period of the investigation to accuse them of crimes. - His interpretation does not correspond to the conclusions of the AG's assessment of the totality of the case. - She was not impressed with the timing of the publication of the book, just days after the AG had released the conclusions of the entire investigation. - He ignores their right to a presumption of innocence. - He used the kudos of his former position to bolster the credibility of his claims... and to make a substantial income out of it. - The documentary is even worse. - She doesn't appear to have been very impressed either with the insinuations that the Portuguese authorities who did not share his views were somehow bowing to the whims of foreign powers. - Some of the legal arguments are those presented in the injunction: the relative rights, etc. - Although a private citizen at the time of publication, as a former PJ officer, there are still rights and duties associated with that former position. And that includes discretion so as not to prejudice a case and the respect for the concept of the presumption of innocence. - She has substantiated the arguments not just from Portuguese legislation, but also from European legislation. This from STM and so well put: What broke the "stalemate" is the fact that it was accepted that on the one hand the McCanns suffered as a result of his accusations and that the McCanns have a right to the presumption of innocence. On the other hand, magistrates and police officers have a number of principles and rules to uphold. As a former PJ coordinator, he still had a duty to uphold them. Instead, he used his former position to bolster his credibility and income-generating potential as he merrily breached those principles / rules big time, insisting on his own interpretation based on only selected parts of the files, giving the impression that he was conveying the official conclusions of the entire investigation. Oh, and managed to cast aspersions on current magistrates and PJ officers while he was at it. I've noticed that the popular theme on other groups is all about the dogs. Imo the dogs are the main thing that they talk about when there asked for evidence and the popular mantra DOGS DON'T LIE. I agree that dogs don't lie but they can be mistaken x I am writing this as an appeal for the whereabouts of Lizzy Taylor who has not been seen in over 16 hours and her fans are getting increasingly worried about her. If you have any information please ring Crimestoppers who are interested in her disappearance from the internet and are concerned it may be to do with the McCann case. They are happy enough to like the so called dog evidence. They are happy enough to like his book ect ect. But a court ruling made by a judge who has heard the evidence are wrong. How wonderful it is to learn that there are journalists following this dreadful hate campaign against the McCanns. I had often hoped that there were but to be told this is a fact...it is a relief. The anti-McCann’s want people to believe that a missing child is dead… now why would any person want a missing child to be classed as dead, without solid evidence to prove otherwise? Is it true GM is not her biological father and that the "donor" was from Holland where she was born? It would explain why they lived there and why her birth was not registered in the UK for a few months, a lot longer than the law allows (I think you have 90 days to register a birth, they took around 8 months I think - is this because she was born in Holland?) If the parents were involved, as some people say, why would they campaign tirelessly for a review to be conducted?
